#Champs2025: Titchfield’s Shavan Jarrett grabs gold in boys’ Class 1 800m
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Titchfield High’s Shavan Jarrett finally got his ‘Champs gold medal in his final individual race — the boys Class One 800m at the 115th ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships at the National Stadium on Saturday.
He completed what was one of the most predictable wins of the games.
Jarrett, whose best finish at Champs was fourth place in Class Two and had easily won his Class One preliminary races, led from the front in the final and was never challenged, cruising to 1:50.40.
Joel Morgan of Edwin Allen High School was second with 1:51.46 and Raheem Palmer of Alphansus Davis High School took the bronze with 1:51.88.
William Knibb Memorial’s Thywaine Sterling added the Class Two gold to the one he won in the 1500m on Wednesday, running 1:54.88 to beat Sydney Pagon’s Luke Plummer who ran 1:56.39 while St May High’s Rasheed Grant was third with 1:56.72.

St Jago High’s Khieme Campbell won the Class Three 3 800m final in 2:03.07 and was followed across the finish line by Alfario Cunningham of Wolmer’s Boys who ran 2:04.61.
