Higgler slapped with several charges
KINGSTON, Jamaica —A higgler of Plaza Road, Kingston and Blacksmith Lane, Seaforth in St Thomas has been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, dealing in prohibited weapons, and unauthorised possession of ammunition following an incident on Roselle Main Road, St Thomas on Wednesday.
Charged is 22-year-old Quaitin Saunders, otherwise called ‘Old Joe’.
Saunders was arrested during a vehicular checkpoint operation at about 7:40 am.
The police team was reportedly checking a public passenger bus when they reportedly saw Saunders putting a bag between his feet. The team accosted him, searched the bag that he was carrying, and found one Taurus 9mm pistol, three magazines, and 30 rounds of ammunition.
Saunders is scheduled to appear before the Morant Bay Parish Court on Wednesday, April 2.
