#Champs2025: Edwin Allen High, Hydel and St Jago into four girls’ 4x100m finals
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Defending champions Edwin Allen High, Hydel High and St Jago High have all qualified for the four girls’ 4x100m relay finals of the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships at the National Stadium, set for Saturday.
Holmwood Technical, who are expected to make a run for one of the top three spots at the end of the championships, are only in three of the finals after they fumbled in Class Four and finished well out of contention.
Hydel High qualified fastest in Class One with 45.62 seconds, followed by Edwin Allen High — 45.76 seconds, Holmwood Technical — 46.05 seconds, St Jago High — 46.15 seconds, and Excelsior High — High-46.50 seconds.
Wolmer’s Girls ran 45.59 seconds to lead the Class Two qualifying round, followed by Edwin Allen (46.49 seconds), Immaculate Conception (46.61 seconds) and St Jago High (45.74 seconds).
Hydel High are also through with 46.80 seconds and Vere Technical with 46.83 seconds.
St Jago High were the fastest in Class Three. St Jago High was 46.03 seconds ahead of Edwin Allen (46.49 seconds), Holmwood (47.35 seconds), Convent of Mercy (47.36 seconds) and Hydel High (47.51 seconds).
Hydel High led Class Four with 48.35 seconds, ahead of Edwin Allen (48.49 seconds), St Andrew High (48.75 seconds), St Elizabeth Technical High School (48.95 seconds) and Immaculate Conception (48.74 seconds).
