Shaggy, Sting top the New York Reggae chart with Til A Mawnin
Til A Mawning by Shaggy, featuring Sting, has topped the New York Reggae chart. The song, which uses the original rhythm track from Yellowman’s 1982 hit I’m Getting Married (produced by Henry “Junjo” Lawes), is said to be an upcoming musical project by both Grammy-winning acts.
Shaggy and Sting collaborated on 44/876, which won a Grammy in 2019 for Best Reggae Album.
Released on February 27, Til A Mawnin is an upbeat reggae track which brings back memories of the old school reggae vibe.
Shaggy and Sting have been doing the promotional rounds in the United States to promote Til A Mawnin. They recently performed the song on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
Still on the New York Reggae chart, Alive (2025) by Mr Vegas takes a flight from #12 to #10, while Sidem by Peaches Adaba inches up from #19 to #17.
Fields of Gold by Third World (a Top 20 UK and Top 30 US hit for Sting in 1993) steps up from #26 to #23, while Weekend Dude by Duane Stephenson (27), That’s The Way by Kevoy Clarke (#28), and Kush by Wayne Armond (#30) are this week’s new entries.
Over on the South Florida Reggae chart, Mr Vegas takes over the #1 spot with Alive (year 2025), while Kashief Lindo’s One Breath improves from #13 to #10.
Hezron’s Blame It On The Wine is #27, Love Again by Tarrus Riley steps up to #20, while You Can Do It by Lady Flame is new at #24.
Over on the Rebel Vibez Top Ten Canadian Reggae chart, I am the One by 6ixGal is the #1 song, with Karma by JUNO Reggae Recording of the Year nominee SkyStar holding down the #2 spot.
Life Is The Thing by The Human Rights is #3, Winning by last year’s JUNO nominee Omega Mighty is at #4, and
Your Eyes and Mine by Mirian Katrib is #5.
Jah Sunlight by Rayzalution debuts at #10.
Bob Marley and the Wailers clock 271 non-consecutive weeks in the #1 spot on the streaming and sales-driven Billboard Reggae Albums chart with Legend.
Meanwhile, Best of Shaggy: The Boombastic Collection by Shaggy, Dutty Classics Collection by Sean Paul, World on Fire by Stick Figure, and Greatest Hits by UB40 are #2, #3, #4, and #5 respectively.
Dutty Rock by Sean Paul is #6, Set in Stone and Wisdom by Stick Figure are #s 7 and 8, while Exodus by Bob Marley and the Wailers is #9, and Welcome to Jamrock by Damian Marley is #10.
Crazy by Busta Rhymes, featuring Akon and Vybz Kartel, moves up from #32 to #10 in its second week on the German Urban chart, while Let it Talk to Me by Sean Paul and INNA debuts at #24.
