Sangster International Airport warns of fake ‘lost and found’ Facebook pages

ST JAMES, Jamaica — Sangster International Airport (SIA) authorities are warning the public of fraudulent Facebook pages that falsely claim to be the official “lost and found” service for the airport.

In a statement Tuesday morning, the SIA clarified that these pages are not affiliated with the airport in any way.

It cautioned the public against engaging with these pages, as they may be attempting to gather personal information or solicit funds.

It said for legitimate lost and found inquiries at Sangster International Airport, the public should contact its customer service team via its official email at lostandfound@mbjairport.com.

Further, the SIA is encouraging members of the public to report the fake pages to Facebook and share this advisory with fellow travellers to prevent potential scams.
