Brahma Bull a winner second time out
After a promising debut on February 15, 2025, when he finished second by a length behind stablemate Easy Money, Brahma Bull returned on Saturday, March 8, and delivered a winning performance in a Maiden Special Weight contest for native-bred three-year-olds.
Trained by Anthony “Baba” Nunes and ridden by Tevin Foster, Brahma Bull made a single, decisive move to take the lead and never looked back, crossing the line a length and a half ahead of I’m Outstanding (Ismael Velasquez) and Althia (Phillip Parchment).
The 6-furlong (1,200m) contest was won in a time of 1:16.2, with splits of 24.1 x 49.3 x 1:02.3.
When Brahma Bull exited his starting stall he was hustled to the front by Foster seizing the advantage. Following on the heels of
Brahma Bull were Althia (Phillip Parchment), Modern Monarch (Romane Gordon), and I’m Outstanding (Ismael Velasquez) as they approached the half-mile (800m) bend.
With every stride, Braham Bull extended his lead, with rivals struggling to keep pace. As he turned for home, Braham Bull cruised to the finish line.
I’m Outstanding launched a late bid to catch the leader, but Brahma Bull was not for the catching.
Brahma Bull is a three-year-old chestnut colt bred by Sunshine N Shadow out of the Legal Process mare Esperanza.
