Outsource2Jamaica 2025 to showcase country’s readiness for expansion
THE Outsource2Jamaica Conference & Expo 2025, which is scheduled for April 10 at Montego Bay Convention Centre, is set to bring a wide array of stakeholders in the global services sector together to explore emerging trends in artificial intelligence and showcase innovations and cutting edge technologies.
According to Wayne Sinclair, who is the president of Global Services Association of Jamaica (GSAJ), the conference will serve as a platform for Jamaica to demonstrate to the world that it is ready for the next phase of the industry’s evolution.
“We have an opportunity, and we will be able to display that we are not the business process outsourcing (BPO) sector of yesterday, but we are moving steadfastly into the future of this industry,” Sinclair said recently at the launch of the conference which was held at Jamaica Pegasus hotel in St Andrew.
He stated that the conference is going to bring together industry leaders and experts from across the globe, as well as buyers from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Central America. They’ll engage in thought-provoking discussions, insightful presentations, and business-to-business meetings designed to highlight current opportunities in the global services sector, according to the GSAJ president.
“I really want to emphasise the real marketplace nature of this year’s event. Our motto at the GSAJ is ‘Learn, network and connect’. This motto reflects our commitment to embracing new technologies, building global partnerships, and delivering significant business opportunities to the GSAJ’s membership and the industry as a whole.
“It is a call for action for all of us to think beyond traditional boundaries and to reimagine the future of the global services sector. Specifically, I call out to existing and prospective players that deliver higher value-added services. These services include analysis, market research, data mining and security, telemedicine, health-care consulting, legal accounting, management consulting services, and so many opportunities, too many to mention,” Sinclair added, encouraging every industry player, whether large or small, to take full advantage of the opportunities that will be presented at the conference.
“Engage with your peers, share your insights, and collaborate on initiatives that will propel our industry to new heights. Together we can shape the future of the global services industry here in Jamaica and create a brighter and more prosperous future for all,” he added.
Gloria Henry, the president of (business process outsourcing) BPO and logistics at The Port Authority of Jamaica and who is also chairman of the Outsource2Jamaica Conference, said that, ‘Driving Excellence’ was chosen as the theme because it is the bedrock of what Jamaica is seeking to do in technology, talent development and transformation.
“This year we are working to have a great event. Our keynote speaker will be Andrew Holness, prime minister of Jamaica. We also have other government ministers who will be part of panels. Most importantly, it is going to be a buyer’s marketplace. We have engaged with an advisory firm that is coming to Jamaica with a group of buyers, brokers, analysts, and various speakers who will be engaging with our industry members and young people within the BPO space looking to grow their business. Some have been asking for a long time how they [can] get new business,” she said.
Henry said they will get the opportunity at the conference in April to connect with buyers and analysts and pitch their call centre or whatever products and services they are offering.
