Pritty Di General gets major buzz on Joe Budden podcast with remix
United States (U.S) — based dancehall artiste Pritty Di General had always been a big fan of the popular The Joe Budden Podcast so imagine his surprise when his song, ‘Baddest in the Room dancehall remix’, was featured in a segment of the show last week.
The mention triggered an immediate boost in his social media impressions and interactions online.
“The Joe Budden Podcast mention definitely boosted the views. I have been getting DMs from a lot of blogs and DJ’s from all over are direct-messaging me on instagram asking for the The Baddest in the Room dancehall remix,” he said. The song was originally released on the UPC Entertainment label.
The song is to be a part of an EP set for a summer release. It is an official interpolation of Haitian-American singer Fridayy’s ‘Baddest in the Room’ hit.
“There is no video shot for the remix yet because it’s not an official remix but the song is getting airplay on major radio stations in the United States so I have to give thanks,” he said.
He gave a major thumbs-up to The Joe Budden Podcast.
“I definitely tune in from time to time and I will binge watch episodes whenever I am free from studio work or touring so that was a great look seeing them giving major love to the remix,” he said.
Budden is the stepfather of Pritty Di General’s child as the two share a babymother.
Budden, now an American broadcaster, first gained recognition as a rapper with his 2003 single “Pump It Up”, which peaked within the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100.
He retired from recording in 2018, committed to broadcasting, and became famous for his outspoken views on prominent hip hop figures, with some describing him as “the Howard Stern of hip hop”.
Meanwhile, Pritty Di General has been booked to perform on upcoming events such as Hollywood Carnival, the Connecticut West Indian Day Parade and Fire Sundays in Brooklyn, New York.
He is known for songs such as ‘Bubble’, ‘Fit’, and “Siddung’ featuring Pamputtae, the latter of which went viral online.
