JFF Championship leaders seek wins today
Lime Hall FC and Falmouth United, leaders for their respective zones of the Jamaica Football Federation Championships will put their unbeaten records on the line when the competition continues today with eight games.
Both teams are on 13 points from four wins and a draw to start the competition and are hoping they will extend their positive starts when they take on Meadforest FC and Duncans United respectively.
Meadforest, who are in third place in Zone A, four points behind Lime Hall, have dawn their last two games and will take on a Lime Hall team that has won their last three games by a combined 6-0 margin.
Lime Hall contested the Jamaica Premier League last season and have retained a number of their players, who will be hoping to get another try at returning to the top club competition in the country.
Falmouth United, who have incorporated a number of players from former champions Faulkland FC, are on a good run, winning their last four games and faces Duncans in a Trelawny derby.
Falmouth are coming off a 3-1 win over Reno FC while Duncans are on seven points in fourth place, getting just four points from their last four games and were beaten at home last weekend.
After starting the season with a 4-0 win, Duncans have managed just four goals in their next four games and must improve today of they are to beat Falmouth United in the first meeting between the teams at this level.
Reno FC, second in Zone B have cooled off after a fast start, winning their first three games, and have picked up a single point from their last two games, including a loss last Saturday.
Today, they will be home at Llandilo Sports Complex, against Holland PYC who are coming off their first win of the season and will be hoping to build on that momentum.
Reno, however, will be hoping to use home field advantage and return to winning ways as they seek to keep in touch with the leaders.
In Zone A, second placed Baptist Alliance SC will be seeking their first win over fourth-placed Tru-Juice FC when they meet at Dinthill Technical.
Tru-Juice won both games against Baptist Alliance last year, 3-2 and 3-1 on their way to the semi-finals after drawing their only game played in the 2022-23 season.
Tru-Juice have won two and drawn two since forfeiting their opening game, scoring eight goals in the process while Baptist Alliance have won their last two games.
Treasure Beach, who were in the Premier League last season, have won two of their last three games since drawing their first three games and are in third in place in Zone B. They will be at home to Mt Pleasant FA Juniors at Breds Sports Complex.
Mount Pleasant juniors have struggled, losing their last three games after winning the first two and will hope to regain some form today against a Treasure Beach team that will be high on confidence.
