Taste of Tryall Fund-raiser Delivers Culinary Delights for a Noble Cause
The annual Taste of Tryall, a hallmark event that gathers Tryall Club members, guests, business and government leaders, and community partners, proved to be an outstanding success once again. Held on Friday, January 20, the event brought over 200 attendees to the Tryall Beach Club for an American Western-themed culinary extravaganza, all in support of the Tryall Fund’s charitable initiatives.
For more than six decades, the Tryall Fund has been a beacon of hope for the Jamaican community, particularly in Hanover. The fund is dedicated to enhancing health and education through numerous initiatives, including granting over 330 scholarships annually, supporting the Success by Six learning programmes in eight basic schools, running free dental and audio clinics, and expanding access to medical services at the Sandy Bay clinic.
This year’s Taste of Tryall showcased the culinary prowess of Tryall’s talented chefs, with a remarkable array of 60 dishes that left guests spoilt for choice. Among the creative concoctions were Jerk Chicken Sushi, Teriyaki Meatballs, and Jerk Chicken Ravioli, all of which delighted the adventurous palates of the attendees.
The show-stopping pieces were nothing short of spectacular, also featuring a whole roast suckling pig, a breaded rack of lamb stuffed with shrimp, and the classic Beef Wellington. These dishes not only satisfied the taste buds but also served as a testament to the chefs’ culinary artistry and innovation.
Crowd-pleasers such as BBQ Rum Ribs, Coconut Shrimp, and Jerk Oxtail further added to the festive atmosphere, eliciting enthusiastic reactions from the guests. Even after indulging in the savoury offerings, there was still room for dessert, with delectable treats like Hummingbird Cake, Sorrel Fruitcake, and a variety of chocolate-laced delights rounding out the evening.
“Since its inception in 2009, Taste of Tryall has been the largest fund-raiser for the Tryall Fund, providing a platform for chefs from the villas and the Tryall Club to showcase their creativity while raising funds for vital community projects. The event’s success continues to fuel the impactful work of the Tryall Fund, ensuring that health and education initiatives remain a priority for the betterment of the Jamaican people,” stated Cristina Costantini, president, Tryall Fund.
“Our attendees left with satisfied appetites and hearts full of gratitude, knowing that their participation had contributed to a cause that makes a tangible difference in the lives of many. The Taste of Tryall remains a shining example of how the power of community and generosity can come together to create lasting positive change,” Constantini added.
